Frequently Asked Questions

I have a question about the event. Who do I talk to?
Please first skim through this FAQ page and see if any of them can answer your question. If you still cannot find an answer, click here to contact us.

Will the event be taking place outside? It will be so hot in Palm Springs!
Yes, it will be hot! So the event will be INDOORS - inside the Wyndham Resort & Hotel and Palm Springs convention center. All the facilities will be air-conditioned so that you will be dancing all day and night without collapsing. A few programs will be taking place outdoor: golf, pool parties, outdoor BBQs and games, dancing by the pool, and other fun things to do while it is not too hot.

So you have a choice to enjoy the Sun both indoors or outdoors -- or either!

What do I wear?
Remember, we have many programs going on at the convention. There are several you want to be certain that you ...

  • bring comfortable clothes for workshops and classes and be ready to perspire. Please do not dress down too much -- observe basic dance etiquette.
  • Bring your swimming suite. We have pool parties every day, and you will not want to miss that out!
  • Bring comfortable clothes that you would wear for Friday Casual Day. Bring Hawaiian Shirt, blouses for the cocktail party!
  • At night, you will want to dress up as you would go to the night club and fancy dance venues. Dresses up that goes with the theme - the Summer Event is about having a Dancer's Summer Vacation!

Must I bring dance shoes?
Yes. We have ordered one of the best floors in the market so that all the dancers will enjoy the dance! Inappropriate shoes, including street shoes, will damage the floor, bring dirts on them, and ruin other dancers' experience. After all, dance floor is dancers' sanctuary. Please bring your shoes and enjoy the floor and dancing on it!

Do I need a partner?
No. If you have a partner great, it's helpful to have a practice partner! But it's not required. Many dancers attend the convention without a partner and hope to meet new and interesting people. We've had dozens of couples who met our conventions or proposed at our conventions! Hear the wedding bells? We rotate partners in class so you get more practice and get more oppertunity to help each other become a little better.

Do I have to buy tickets in advance?
For workshops and classes, you can just show up. Most of times for special workshops, we sell tickets in advance so that you can get discounts on them! Are you on our email list? If not, join the email news and you will get special discounts and pre-registration information too!

For conventions, we do appreciate pre-registration, that way we will know how many leader and followers that have signed up. This is helpful since we can email other students in order to even out the ladies and gentlemen in the class.

Pre-registration will make sure that you will get all that you can get out of the event, not only early-bird special discounts but also other deals and access to certain programs.

How can I find a roommate or capool for a weekend dance event?
If you do not have a roommate for a dance event, we have set up a special online message board to help you find a roommate and allow you to stay in touch with other dancers. Simply click on "Find a Roommate/Caropool," "Roommate/Carpool Search" or "Buddy Search" on the menu and post a message. It's that simple!

I found a broken link and/or pictures on your web site.
